How we got here:

The Tech Morning Newspaper

04th October 2022

Simon made a post on a Discord Server, where he was looking for collaborators on his project called the Tech Morning Newspaper. Levani, Kappa and Harry were interested in the idea and wanted to help.

Backend Started

10th October 2022

We decided that we should use Flask for the backend and then we started to modify the existing codebase for it. Soon after the first email verification & sign up systems were implemented.

Renaming the project

10th October 2022

This project was renamed to Good Morning Tech by Harry. We also came up with our catchy tagline! “Your daily dose of tech, straight to your inbox!”

First Logo Prototypes

First Landing Page Prototype

28nd October 2022

The first landing page prototype was completed and pushed. Little did we know, we were far from over! We also managed to push some other pages like the 404 page, unsubscribe page and the subscribe page in the span of the next one week.

New Readme.md

5th November 2022

We got our first readme.md in place, and we are still using this one.

Confirm Email

11th November 2022

Levani, our backend developer managed to get the email verification system to work with styling! Although the first iteration of the backend for this verification was pushed in October in a commit made by Kappa.

On 16th November, Harry rebranded the logo from the old one to the one we are using right now!

A fresh start

17th November 2022

The old website felt.. Old. And now that we managed to get a sponsor, we decided to remake the website. This time, we wanted to use Tailwind! The current landing page (and other pages) were designed!

This project began on a Discord server owned by the YouTuber Lewis Menelaws. This project managed to grab his attention and he decided to help us by purchasing us this domain for the project! Our second sponsor in one way?

Launched Social media

3rd January 2023

Started off 2023 with creating a Twitter and Instagram account.

First Pre-release

25th January 2023

After almost 3+ months of hard work, we were proud to announce the first pre-release of the site!

Testing Phase Begins

18th February 2023

We started to look for testers for this product and managed gather a groupd of kind individuals who provided us with important feedback for this project! If you are reading this, you know exactly who you are & we thank you for your contribution. A complete list can be viewed on our Discord Server.

Release

6th May 2023

After a lot of work, the countdown ended, and we released to the public!

Dark Mode added

14th May 2023

Levani added some extra classes to each page and adapted them to be used with dark mode.

API and smaller features

15th July 2023

In the past few months after release development slowed down, we started accepting writer applications and added smaller features, as well as a couple of bug fixes. Levani also added a free API for everyone to use.
